Kenyon Yeh

Taiwan-based designer Kenyon Yeh relishes the challenge of making minimal objects that never verge on boring. He believes the art of creating simple objects is complex, and that it’s the things he takes away that make his designs truly something.

Educated in London, Kenyon has spent nearly a decade working with international design brands such as Menu, Harto and Bolia.

Approach

“I design for the people and the people help me improve.”

With Rove, Kenyon found an ingenious way to make the structure of the table a handle for the table itself. It’s a small, sublime detail that makes the design utterly unique. Interestingly, Kenyon cites the world’s most popular video-sharing site as a source of inspiration. “Youtubers have taught me so much!” he says.

Simple. Affordable. Handsome.

This side table came flat packed and was so easy to assemble. No tools needed. Visually, it complements most areas in my apartment. It's really timeless. Not a statement piece, but a reliable friend. I can tell it's going to age gracefully. It also has a hidden function. The hole in the top provides a place for charging cables to thread and wait to be used.

The Multi-Use Side Table

The Rove Side Table is extremely versatile and works perfectly in our communal studio. It's incredibly lightweight, making it easy for us to move around the studio for different uses. As light as it is, it's well-made and strong enough to hold heavier weight items. I am definitely planning to get one or two more for the studio because of how much use this one gets.

A- team

I'll get to the actual rove review but first I must say I LOVE the packaging! SO easy to open and put together, my 5 year old wanted to put it together and did it in about 30 secs. LOVE the lack of need for tools , LOVE the lack of plastic. LOVE the minimal instructions on the box! Great work on packaging. We just got some pottery barn stools, SUCH a better experience with the rove, without styrofoam, plastic bags, tools, booklets of instructions.

Regarding to rove I must say it feels very solid, for some reason I was expecting wood, and less stable, but am pleasantly surprised! Light but sturdy, small but enough space to serve my side table needs.

The kid wanted to take the rove to her room and instinctively just grabbed the table and off she went to rove with the rove.

Look forward to using it!!

love my table

Got my side table a few days ago and I'm very happy with it. It came smartly packaged, was easy to put-together, and has a very sturdy quality feel to it. I hate ikea/standard cheap furniture so usually go for quality used items, but very happy I found dims and saw they had a cool unique piece that fit what I was looking for and was within my budget. Definitely would love to see more stuff from them!

The truly perfect sized side table

It's incredibly clear that this little table has been thoughtfully designed to fit into a truly multi-purpose use case. I initially purchased the Rove to place next to my sitting chair to hold some books/magazines and some knickknacks (candle, small plant, glass of booze, etc.). However, I'm finding that the Rove actually serves much more purpose than just that; I use it as a make-shift surface to grab a bite on, move it over to the kitchen to keep cooking items at my side (when larger dinner-prep nights are called for), and, if you throw a small pillow on top of the table, it makes for a perfect little lounge spot for my pup when we're watching TV and don't necessarily want him on the couch! All in all, perfectly sized little table that packs a punch when it comes to usability. Going to pick up a few more for my kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom soon!
